UlsterCorps continues to grow each day with exciting new opportunities. We are seeking individuals who want to join the UlsterCorps core community and help us build a culture of service. Below are some ways you can help UlsterCorps directly:
Action Alerts:
- Sign up to receive our Action Alerts, urgent last minute requests for assistance from local agencies. You can opt to receive alerts relating only to a specific skillset or the Ulster County Hunger Prevention Coalition’s Fall Farms to Food Pantries Initiative listed below.
Assist with Seasonal Projects:
- Helping out with Office Hours and our Holiday Coat & Winter Wish List Drive at our new Storefront for Service
- Assist with planning and research for our Spring Service Summit, tentatively scheduled for April 2010.
- Fundraising, Project Coordinating, Interviewing seniors, or video editing for our summer Harvesting a Lifetime Living History Project
- Assisting with the Ulster County Hunger Prevention Coalition’s Fall Farms to Food Pantries Initiative, gleaning, transporting and processing food donated by local farms to food pantries.
Additional ways you can help:
- Contributing to our Youth Celebration of Service Quilt. Currently we are seeking experienced quilters as well as youth art classes and community service clubs to partner with.
- Joining one of our committees – volunteer outreach, agency outreach, fundraising & marketing, technology
- Designing & posting flyers of upcoming events & opportunities
- Join our Tech Team – help from home in your spare time updating our website, blogging, tweeting, or posting on Facebook about upcoming volunteer opportunities
- Donate – Your generosity keeps this vision alive and strong!
- Telling friends and colleagues about UlsterCorps and helping us build a culture and spirit of volunteerism in Ulster County
