Volunteers Needed To Help High School Students Develop Interviewing Skills.

by | Feb 7, 2009

Ulster County Transition Coordinating Council is seeking volunteers from the business community to go into local high schools to role play job interview sessions. With just an hour or two of your time, you could provide a valuable experience to young people in our community by conducting mock interviews.

Understanding the expectations and practicing appropriate communication skills are invaluable experiences for young people getting ready to enter the work force.

Our focus is to assist students with a variety of learning challenges transition from school to either college, competitive employment or supported employment within the community.

If you are interested in working within the schools on a one-time basis or to establish a series of sessions in collaboration with a school district, please contact: Bev Perlman at bperlman@gatewayindustries.org or Theresa Freligh at tfreligh@saugerties.k12.ny.us
