Work Party at Esopus Creek Conservancy – September 13
Our rainy summer has been both a help and a hindrance to the Preserve lands. Erosion is evident in the usual spots and some not so usual ones have popped up as well. To this end, our Girl Scout Alicia Scott, is heading an Erosion Control project. Alicia is working towards her Girl Scout Gold Award and this project counts towards her prerequisite hours.
There will be a work party on Sunday, September 13, being led by Alicia Scott. The work party will be meeting at the Shady Lane entrance at 9am. The tools needed will be Shovels, Rakes, and Wheel Barrows. Don’t forget, many hands make light work. We should show our support for a hard working youth citizen of Saugerties. SAGE Make a Difference Day October 4th – Tabling for Esopus Creek Conservancy
SAGE – Saugerties is About Growth Experience – is sponsoring their 2nd Annual Make a Difference Day. This community event is scheduled for October 4 in Cantine Field from 12pm to 3pm.
Make a Difference Day is sponsored by SAGE to celebrate the Saugerties Community, its diversity and those youth and adults who make a difference through volunteering. Esopus Creek Conservancy will have an Exhibition Booth at the event. We need some Volunteers to help staff the booth. It is not a very long time, just 3 hours from noon to 3. Can’t do all three hours? Then how about 1 hour? You will get to be a part of a successful Saugerties event. Staffing a booth can be a very enjoyable experience as you not only get a chance to see your friends walking by during the day, this also gives you an opportunity to make new friends – the other people that staff the booth and those that stop by to chat.
