The Town of New Paltz Environmental Conservation Board seeks volunteer members

by | Feb 3, 2011

The EnCB seeks volunteer members with a strong environmental commitment who want to have a voice in what gets built in the Town of New Paltz. The EnCB reviews applications received by the Town Board, Planning Board or Zoning Board of Appeals, and issues recommendations, sometimes under SEQRA, the NY STATE environmental protection law. Additionally, The EnCB has statutory responsibilities under some provisions of Town Code, and launches environment-related projects on its own initiative.

Members are appointed by the Town Board for a renewable two-year term. Town residence is required. Specialized knowledge is helpful but not required. Meetings are on the first Wednesday of each month at Town Hall. Stop by to offer public comment or observe the Board in session. All are welcome.
