People’s Place Volunteer Opportunity

People’s Place is seeking one to two volunteer(s) to help pack grocery bags and set-up them up for deliveries by Kingston Emergency Food Collaborative volunteer delivery drivers. Volunteer(s) should be able to commit to weekly shift(s) through the end of the year.

- Schedule: 3.5 hours per week; every Tuesday 10 am – 12 pm & every Wednesday 7:30 – 9 am
- Time Commitment: through the end of the year (special arrangements can be made for volunteer being away on vacation)
- Responsibilities:
- Tuesday – pack grocery bags for delivery
- Wednesday – set-up for delivery drivers, including giving the set-up team direction, helping to move pallets and erect tent, bringing grocery bags outside and arranging them on pallets
- Requirements: must be comfortable with and able to do physical work, including lifting and pushing; must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Other considerations: ideally, the Tuesday and Wednesday volunteer shifts will be filled by the same volunteer. And, People’s Place will consider volunteers that are only available for one shift or the other, as long as they can commit to a weekly shift.
