Annual Events

In addition to recruiting volunteers and fostering collaborative work throughout the year, UlsterCorps hosts three annual events:

• Our MLK Day Celebration of Service, a thank you party honoring all volunteers in Ulster County and honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event brings together and celebrates volunteers from non-profit service organizations throughout Ulster County for their hard work and dedication. It celebrates the broad circle of kindness and generosity that knits us together as a community and demonstrates the value of the volunteer spirit across all generations.
• Our annual Service Summit which brings together over 70 community leaders from the nonprofit, business, higher education and governmental sectors to address the work and value of volunteerism and collaborative projects in Ulster County.
• The UlsterCorps Zombie Escape, now in its 15th year, is UlsterCorps’ primary annual fundraiser, and a perfect family friendly way to start your Halloween while supporting a great cause. Enjoy the spectacular fall foliage and beautiful trails at Fifth Lake Hudson Valley (formerly Williams Lake) in Rosendale, while passing zombies and other spooky surprises hiding in the woods, tunnels and caves. The event includes options for all levels of participants: a FREE 1K Fun Run for kids, a 5K timed race, and a 2K walk/hike.
