Kerhonkson Elementary School is starting an afterschool club for students free of charge. We are starting off with a LEGO club.
We are doing a LEGO drive…collecting legos that the students will be able to use every week at the meetings. As we all know, legos are expensive, but some how they never break! So, we are looking for parents, or older kids, to drag out their legos from their basements and storage, to put them to good use.
If you have any LEGO you can donate, please contact KES at 626-2451 or Nicole at alleyzach@aol.com
The LEGO club will be “staffed” by parent volunteers. It will be completely free and open to all the students of Kerhonkson Elementary School. The kids will meet bi-weekly, to start. The kids will be given a theme to work on, and using their imagination and legos, they will build their masterpiece. The lego projects will be displayed in the school until the next meeting, and then they will be dismantled and used to make ne projects. It is a simple club to provide a free afterschool activity that is good for the kids.
We would like to start the program by mid March. This gives us one month to collect as many legos as we can. We do not have any afterschool activities at our school, so we think that a lot of kids will be interested. But, we need enough legos to support the number of kids that are interested. We would hate to have to turn anyone away.
