We need Volunteers! Can YOU Help?
Housing is a critical issue for our neighbors and HomeShare Ulster County is one important solution. You can be a part of this community effort! Ours is an innovative program matching homeowners who have extra living space with home seekers looking for safe and affordable rental situations. It is the first home sharing program in the state outside of New York City and the concept is new in our area.
Since opening our “doors” in 2022, we have steadily expanded our service area. We now serve northern Ulster County including Woodstock, Saugerties, Kingston, Hurley, Olive, Shandaken and Ulster. Since beginning the program we have made thirteen matches benefitting twenty-six people. This is what one of our Providers has to say about her experience.

HomeShare Ulster County is a program of Family of Woodstock Inc. Our skilled volunteers are a vital part of our thorough application vetting process. Volunteers conduct intake interviews and assist with background and reference checking. They work directly with our applicants to help create mutually-beneficial, supportive matches. If you have experience such as social work, case management or counseling, we would love to invite you to join our Team!
We also have a need for help with checking references, posting on social media and tabling at events. No experience needed! We value responsibility, communication and a willingness to learn. That could be YOU!
