High Meadow School, Stone Ridge, NY
The Ride the Ridge Bike Challenge welcomes more than 350 riders of any skill level, challenging them to complete one of five courses ranging from 80 miles to 5 miles. A pre-ride breakfast, on-course volunteers, and a post-ride party with complimentary food and beverages are just part of the fun. Bicycling Magazine said Ride the Ridge is “one of the country’s best cycling events in June.” The event is to fund needs-based scholarships for the independent, progressive High Meadow School in Stone Ridge.
The event has nearly 100 volunteer positions, many of them on the courses helping with traffic flow, direction and rider encouragement. Volunteers have a lot of fun cheering on riders as they pass their locations or being on campus to serve food and drinks to tired-but-exhilarated riders! It is a great community service opportunity!
