Come join us at Minnewaska State Park Preserve to celebrate the fourth annual I Love My Park Day. I Love My Park Day is an exciting statewide event to improve and enhance New York’s parks and historic sites and bring visibility to the entire park system and its needs.
Volunteers are asked to please bring garden gloves, water, a lunch or snacks, bug spray and sturdy boots. For both activities, volunteers should meet at the Wildmere Parking Area, near Lake Minnewaska.
Project 1: Volunteers will join Park Preserve staff and the NY/NJ trail conference volunteers to set up a boardwalk building project on a seasonally wet section of Mossy Glen Footpath. Volunteers will haul lumber half a mile down Mossy Glen Footpath to the work site. This project is best suited for ages 12+.
Project 2: Volunteers will join Park Preserve staff and the NY/NJ Trail Conference volunteers to enhance sections of the scenic Jenny Lane footpath by clipping back overgrown vegetation. This project is best suited for those ags 7 and up.
