VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Thursday, May 12: Any time between 10am and 4pm
Setting up – Decorating, setting up the silent auction items,
preparing registration and check-in, and other assorted tasks.
Friday, May 13: Needed between 5:00pm to 11:00pm
Dress will be suits and dresses, and if your volunteers are so inclined, they’re welcome to come dressed as their favorite old-time movie star (we would like to know ahead of time how and who they’re coming as, though)
Welcoming Paparazzi – As guests come in, we’ll have staff and volunteers greeting our “stars” with oohs and aahs as they walk up the ubiquitous red carpet, pretending to take photos of them, etc.
Registration desk – Checking in pre-registered guests
Silent Auction: Helping to keep things neat and moving. Answering questions guests might have, etc. Then, at 10pm when the silent auction ends, helping to move the silent auction items behind our auction tables, being runners to retrieve items as guests check out, helping guests to their cars with items if needed, etc.
Breakdown: after the show, helping to collect, organize, and pack up.
On top of our deepest gratitude, we’ll also make sure volunteers are fed (we’ll need to know their entrée choice), as well as welcome to non-alcoholic beverages from our open bar.
I’m hoping we can have about four or five volunteers on both days, and preferably those who can do both, so that when they come back on Friday for the event, they’ll already have a good idea of what’s going on.
The event supports the programs and services of Spectrum Services, and our wonderful students with autism.
