Bike-Friendly Kingston Volunteer Opportunities for May Events
If you are interested in one of these roles or would like more info please email bikefriendlykingston@gmail.com.
Bike Safety and Outreach Event:
Sign up to help man a bike education table at ShopRite, 801 Miron Lane, Kingston, on May 1st, 10am – 1pm. This volunteer opportunity would be great for anyone who has a basic knowledge of cycling and is comfortable interacting with the public. Any age is fine as long as minors are accompanied by an adult. Table and supplies will be provided, just a happy attitude and appropriate attire required!
YMCA Bike Fest:
Sign up to help us run the YMCA Bike Fest on May 15th, 9:30am-1:30pm at the YMCA, 507 Broadway, Kingston. We need volunteers to: 1. Help Setup, 2. Man a bike safety table, 3. Make simple bike repairs, 4. Assist with a bike rodeo, 5. Collect donations for the YMCA’s Lend-A-Wheel program, 6. Co-lead/ride along on a community bike ride and, finally, 7. Help cleanup.
Bike-Friendly Kingston is an association of individuals who share a common goal: to make Kingston a safer, more bike-able city. We meet twice a month to pursue a range of activities, including advocating for better bicycle infrastructure and policies, and educating Kingston residents about the benefits of safe, responsible bicycling.
