Roundout Haunted Boat Ride
Every October, the restless spirits of those who perished on the Hudson River all return to the surface and gather at the Rondout Lighthouse to await passage to the afterlife. Visible to the eye but harmless to the living, these spirits come together to remember and recount the perilous and often tragic stories of their demise. The Hudson River Maritime Museum will offer visitors a unique opportunity to hear these grisly tales and experience life on the water, after dark, aboard our tour boat Solaris. Our captain will take visitors as close to the Lighthouse as spirits allow, after all, who knows what spirits you may encounter along the way.
Haunted Rondout Boat Rides will take place during the weekend prior to Halloween as well as during the week of Halloween, including three Halloween night showtimes!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR HALLOWEEN
There are opportunities to act in front of the public AND/OR work behind the scenes to assist HRMM staff. Please see the descriptions by clicking the “Halloween Volunteer Opportunities” link. The first meeting to discuss Halloween volunteer opportunities will be this Sunday, September 22 at 12 pm in the Wooden Boat School Classroom. If you are unable to join us then, we will have another introductory volunteer meeting on Thursday, September 26 at 3 pm in the same location.
There will be follow up training opportunities and a dry run scheduled for Saturday, October 12 prior to our debut with the public on Friday, October 25.
This event relies heavily on volunteer participation/commitment. There is space to have 10 active volunteers on EACH of our show nights listed above. Without this crucial volunteer element, we will not be able to achieve a lot of our anticipated “acts”.
If you want to participate as an actor or behind the scenes volunteer, please email Paul at pdaley@hrmm.org stating your interest and desired role(s). Please note that you must attend a training session to participate in our Halloween extravaganza.
Please reach out with any questions you have to me at pdaley@hrmm.org or by phone at 845-338-0071 ext 11.
