Ulster Savings Bank and Central Hudson
The Summit is free to attend, but pre-registration is required.

UlsterCorps’ Seventh Annual Service Summit will bring together community leaders from the nonprofit, business, higher education and governmental sectors with local growers, gleaners, and volunteers to focus on volunteer-led initiatives to address hunger, food insecurity and poor nutrition. The program will include presentations and a panel discussion with representatives of local Farm to Food Pantry and Urban Farm Programs as well as related programs from other parts of the region and state. The Summit is being designed to provide a platform for identifying and sharing best practices for engaging farms, food pantries and volunteers to bring more nutritious, locally grown food to those most in need in our community, reduce transportation costs, and keep wholesome food out of the waste stream. Speakers include: Lee Anne Albritton, Poughkeepsie Farm Project; Deborah DeWan, Executive Director, Rondout Valley Growers Association; Judy Douglas, Director, Volunteer Engagement and Community Partner Relations for Volunteer New York!; March Gallagher, President & CEO, Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley; Christine Hein, Executive Director, People’s Place; Stiles Najac, Food Security Coordinator, GleanMobile, Farm to School, Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County; Diane Serratore, Executive Director, People to People, Rockland County and KayCee Wimbish, Project Director and Farmer, Kingston YMCA Farm Project.

As always it will feature round-table discussions giving all attendees an opportunity to participate, share ideas and network. Members of the community interested in volunteering with these initiatives are welcome to attend. The Summit, which is free to participants, is part of the on-going work of UlsterCorps to deepen the knowledge about volunteerism and to find ways to strengthen a culture of service and collaboration in Ulster County. A locally-sourced, healthy breakfast will be available to participants.

Registration is free but required and limited to the first 70 respondents. Register below or by emailing register@ulstercorps.org or by phone (845) 481-0331.
