When: Sunday June 26, 2016.
Where: Forsyth Park, 157 Lucas Avenue, Kingston NY 12401. Parking is at Dietz Stadium, 170 North Front Street, Kingston NY 21401
Event Schedule:
8am – Registration Opens
9am – 25 and 50 Mile Road Rides and 28 Mile Road and Trail “Endurance Ride” start
10am – 10 and 18 Rail Trail Rides start
11am – 5 Mile Family Ride start
12:30 – BBQ lunch for all riders
1:15pm – Raffle Winners Announced
1:30pm – Scholarship Awards Presented
2pm – Clean up and close down.
What: The 11th Annual Tour De Kingston offers bike rides for all abilities and interests.
Volunteers needed!
Set-Up Volunteers: Responsible for setting-up pop-up canopies, folding tables. Putting-up sponsor signs, banners and Start/Finish Banner. Work Hours: 6:30-7:30am
Registration Volunteers: Check-In Pre-Registration riders; Registration and payment for day of riders. Race registration open s at 8amand runs until 11am. Road rides and Endurance rides start off 9 am; 10&18 mile trail rides start at 10am; 5 mile Family ride starts at 11amTraining: 7:30-8:00am Work Hours; 8-11am for working registration
SAG/Support Vehicle Volunteers: Must have driver’s license. Will be based in Forsyth Park and respond to calls from Riders. Will use Ride Director Cell Phone Number as contact number. Will be responsible for set-up of rest stops and closing down rest stops and bringing rest stop items beck to Forsyth Park. Work Hours: 9:00am-1:00pm
Traffic Controllers: Must Direct Traffic to Dietz Stadium (Block Forsyth Park Entrance)Hours: 7:00-11:30am. Responsible for holding traffic for Endurance and 10 & 18 Mile Trail Ride to cross from Dietz Stadium onto Hurley Avenue (8:55-9:10am for Endurance Ride, 9:55-10:00am for 10 & 18 mile Rides), Responsible for holding Traffic on Lucas Avenue for 50 & 25 mile road rides (8:55-9:10am).
Ride Marshalls: Responsible for riding with Family Ride participants and keeping them together as a group. Safety vest will be provided as well as volunteer T-Shirt. Must bring their own bike. Will ride on left hand side of group to keep them in lane.
Hours: 10:45am-12:45am
Rest Stop Volunteers: Responsible for staffing 4 rest stops. Offer snacks, water & Gatorade(for selected stops). Provide encouragement and answer questions. Must provide their own transportation to rest stop; may be required to bring folding table, chair, snacks and refreshments (this may be handled by another volunteer) Hours: Will vary by stop, but will range from 9am-11:30am. Most stops require 2 hour commitment including travel time.
Take Down Volunteers: Closing down Tables, tents, taking down signs and banners. Returning Pavilion to condition it was before the Tour. Put away supplies, Bagging trash and separately bagging recycling.
Hours: 1:30-2:30pm
Rider Hospitality: Set-Up Snacks, Food, Water and Gatorade at Pavilion for ride participants. Refill refreshments as needed. Greet riders, answer questions, and guide riders to registration; Be present in Pavilion area; Dietz Stadium as participants park and are unloading vehicles.Hours: Training 6:30-7:00am; Work Hours 7:00-10:30 (Greeters); 7:00-2:00 Refreshment Table
