Engage and Enrich Children in the Kingston Community! Volunteer at the African Roots Center!
During the school year, the African Roots Center runs the After School Program – a free student enrichment program that includes reading, homework help, arts & crafts, puzzles & games, storytelling and more.
The After School Program is “staffed” by adult volunteers (some of whom are former teachers or classroom paraprofessionals) and high school student interns and mentors.
The program runs Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-6pm.
We are looking for adult and college student volunteers for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. (And if you’re only available Mondays or Fridays, that’s great! We are hoping to expand the After School Program to five weekdays!)
