Ulster County Tool Bank
A TOOL SHARE NETWORK
Roundout Valley Permaculture Group, Marbletown Transition Group, Woodstock Transition Group and Sustainable Urubamba Valley have joined together to develop the Ulster County Tool Bank to support localizing the economy, our farmers, promoting gardening and the production of clean safe food in our communities.
TOOL SHARE NETWORK
Aims to collect old or unused hand tools from the community. The collected tools will be loaned seasonally to new farmers, gardeners and those that lost their tools during the hurricane. We are unable to accept gas or power tools. Tools in good condition will be loaned on a first come first served basis. At the end of the farming season, loaned tools are returned to the Bank and will go back on the list for the next year. This encourages borrowers to get their own tools during the year so we can continue helping new people. Tools in need of repair will go to the “You Fix It You Keep It Clinics”
TOOL SHARE GOALS
– Prevent old /used tools from going to the landfill
– Create a sense of participation with the community by donating old tools.
