Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s Ashokan Watershed Stream Management Program and NYC DEP will be hosting a special event at the Emerson Resort and Spa in Mt. Tremper. World renowned author, stream consultant and hydrologist, Dr. David Rosgen will give an informative talk about stream restoration entitled, “Stream Projects: The Good, the Bad & the Ugly”. This free presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 7 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Through examples of stream restoration projects that were put in with good intentions, but failed or caused other problems, Dr. Rosgen will show how to improve stream projects through natural channel design. In addition to RosgenÂ’s presentation, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions during a question and answer segment of the program. Rosgen, is a hydrologist with Wildland Hydrology in Fort Collins, Colorado and an internationally recognized expert on the subject.
