Affordable/Transitional Housing
HomeShare Ulster County
HomeShare Woodstock is now HomeShareUlster County! Home sharing matches a Home Provider (person with extra room in their home or a separate living space) with a Home Seeker looking for an affordable rental (that usually includes a task exchange). Our newly opened Kingston program is now accepting applications in our new Match Area- City of Kingston!
Applications for Kingston can be requested from:
Charlotte Smiseth, Assistant Program Director, HSUC
845.331.7080 ext. 162
homesharekingston@familyofwoodstockinc.org
For home sharing in the towns of Woodstock, Saugerties, Olive, Hurley, Ulster and Shandaken home seekers and home providers should contact:
Janice La Motta, Program Director, HSUC
845.679.2485
homesharewoodstock@familyofwoodstockinc.org
Both programs welcome volunteers wishing to help promote the program in all of our service areas. If you have social media savvy, computer, networking, public speaking skills, or interview experience and would like to help us make great matches, contact one of our offices.
The expansion to the City of Kingston is supported, in whole or in part, by American Rescue Plan Act funding awarded to the City of Kingston by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Ulster County Community Grants Fund of the Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley. The Woodstock area program is supported in part by the Town of Woodstock using American Rescue Plan Act funds awarded to the Town. HomeShare Ulster County is a program of Family of Woodstock Inc.
Family House Adolescent Shelter
Confidential location
Family House needs volunteers to assist in creating a new garden: clearing overgrowth on a slope that leads to a flat clearing; the clearing effort needs more equipment and brawn, and the gardening area needs prepping and fencing. The effort would also benefit from a volunteer or two committing a couple of hours once a week to help keep the garden up. This time would be done with the clients as a Recreation group. Contact Kie at 338-5953.
