We will be potting up thousands of bareroot seedlings for our “Trees for
Tribs” initiative, which is a program in which landowners can apply for
free trees and shrubs to replant and restore damaged stream buffers on
their property. Stream buffers are areas of vegetation along stream
banks that slow water during flood events, prevent erosion, filter
pollutants from water and serve as valuable habitat for wildlife. It is
also a great way to celebrate arbor day and national volunteer week.
