What is Senior Mobile Meals?
Gateway’s Senior Mobile Meal Program delivers nutritious prepared meals to seniors in their homes and at designated Community Café sites throughout Ulster County. This program is an integral part of the continuum of care that enables older adults to remain as independent as possible and remain living in their homes.
Why Volunteer for SMM?
Gateway Community Industries Inc. is a human services organization that has been serving individuals with disabilities in Ulster and Dutchess Counties for over 60 years. Gateway believes that volunteers play an integral role in our outreach to the seniors in Ulster County. Volunteers help Gateway accomplish its mission to seniors by not only providing them with access to nutritious meals, but also by providing daily contact, a warm smile and friendly conversation to those who might otherwise be isolated from others. Come be part of our Volunteer program and make a difference to the seniors in our community.

Who is eligible to Volunteer?
People from all walks of life age 18 or older

– Orientation and Training
– Gas stipend for volunteer drivers
– Community Café meal for site Volunteers
How much time do I need?
– One hour per week?
– 5 hours per week?
– Volunteer as much or as little as you can offer.
