Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, located next to the Hess Gas Station at 406 state Route 28, Kingston opened to the public September 2013.
Customers at the ReStore can purchase gently-used household goods and supplies at discounted prices – 100% of the profits support Ulster County Habitat for Humanity and help build homes and hope right here in Ulster County.
Habitat’s ReStore needs:
– carpenters and carpenter trainees to build fixtures for the sale of building materials
– volunteers to answer phones
– emergency medical technicians & paramedics to train their staff in CPR and other simple first aid.
List of ongoing positions for the ReStore once it opens include assistant cashier, assistant prep and repair shop technician, assistant to truck driver, back gate attendant, customer service representative, and internet technician.
Students can get credit for volunteer service and can also learn many of the phases of business operation.
