Juvenile Community Accountability Board
Family of Woodstock, Inc., in conjunction with Ulster County Probation started a Juvenile Community Accountability Board (JCAB) which meets with youth who have committed a crime to review the impact of their actions and help create a plan to help the youth make restoration to their community. This is an evidence based restorative justice model that relies on community volunteers in order to work. We are looking for a few more. More information or contact Malka at 845-514-2507.
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley
Legal Services of the Hudson Valley seeks private attorneys who are willing to take a pro bono civil case in Ulster County. You will be able to obtain CLE credit for doing so, while providing valuable legal assistance to those in need. Before sending you a case, we will make sure you are ready and willing to accept it. You can let us know what kind of civil matter you are willing to take on. You could volunteer to draft a simple will, or to handle a matrimonial action. You could represent a homeowner in a foreclosure, or assist at an unemployment insurance hearing. Call Jill Faber, Attorney-in-Charge, Poughkeepsie and Kingston Offices, 845-471-0048, x. 409, for more information, and to volunteer.
