Are you into gardening? Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster CountyÂ’s Master Gardeners will be hosting free Garden Talks at the Ulster County Fair located on Libertyville Road in New Paltz each day at 1:30pm beginning Wednesday, July, 29. The Horticulture Building, located near the racing pigs, will be loaded with locally grown award winning flowers and fruits. The talks are presented by Master Gardeners and will cover various topics pertaining to gardening.
In addition to the Garden Talks, our Master Gardeners will provide fair-goers with state of the art gardening knowledge and information regarding the Master Gardener Program at the popular “Ask the Master Gardener” table, also located in the Horticulture Building.

1:30pm Wednesday, July 29: Water Wise Gardening
1:30pm Thursday, July 30: Rain Gardens
1:30pm Friday, July 31: Deer Resistant Gardening
1:30pm Saturday, August 1: To Lime or Not To Lime
1:30pm Sunday, August 2: How to Become a Green Gardener
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who provide the public with gardening programs and activities that draw on the horticulture research and experience of Cornell University. It is this tie to Cornell that provides Master Gardeners with state of the art gardening knowledge to provide to the community.
The Ulster County Fair opens Tuesday, July 28 through Sunday, August 2.
