Bring a new, unwrapped toy for Family of Woodstock, get $1 off admission
Uncle Rock and his band the Playthings are giving local families an opportunity to help brighten the days of kids affected by homelessness, hunger and domestic violence.
On Saturday December 19th from 1 PM ‘till 3 PM, the Bearsville Theater becomes Toyland! The Washbourne House ( Family of Woodstock’s Domestic Violence Shelter) will be there to accept gifts of new unwrapped toys or a donation to benefit the families that are in the shelter this holiday season. A toy will get every member of a family $1 off admission.
Starting at 1 PM, Uncle Rock will lead carols and sing-alongs, and Posie the Face Painter will be there to make kids and/or parents into elves, winter fairies and/or Grinches. Then the band – with some special guests – will play a rocking set featuring tunes from the recently-raved about holiday CD Express Your Elf (“Shel Silversetin meets Buddy Holly†– LA Times) and the upcoming brand new CD The Big Picture.
It’s a chance to rock out while you help out!
