A random review of my experience at Mohonk Consultations Hunger Form. A very filling experience. My random reflections:
Working together, networking Farmers, Food, Farms….Processing plant for local food ..Rondout Valley Growers efforts… planning… implementation….. canning…. freezing … distribution to schools, institutions and food pantries as well as /Creates local Jobs…Volunteers are available…partnerships are formed.funding available through grants and local fund raising…gardens at soup kitchens and community areas …. Distribution…. A truck with advertising on the sides that delivers food to pantries and schools and stops for people to shop at certain locations..municipal compost …gathering together in small groups for cooking lessons and sharing a meal… Children cook a meal and bring it home to the parents ..parents learn to cook..Food Demos…..soup kitchens that are about building community and dignity for all….tailgate markets for produce… open space lands used by farmers to grow fresh food.. Ulster community collage … supporting our farmers by buying food, planting a row or the hungry and the school… Queens Galley kitchen serves so many meals..people are doing amazing things… pr is necessary…documentation and pictures.. location for storage of food … community centers and food pantries with gardens…people are willing to help build gardens…volunteers are available… businesses are willing to help….centers… distribution… Local growing and exchange of foods….gleaning… Education and community celebration
