People’s Place runs a holiday toy program in mid December where we allow low income Kingston area parents, to shop for free toys for their children, in our thrift store. In this way, the holiday gifts come from the parents, hopefully empowering the parents.
We will be looking for help to set up the toys in Mid December and for volunteers to work as personal shopping assistants.

THE PEOPLE’S PLACE began its 2009 Christmas toy distribution on Monday at its facility at 773 Broadway in Kingston, passing out toys for more than 300 children by the afternoon, according to Peter Quinlan, People’s Place director. Quinlan said there are toys for over 200 children, and he expected distribution will continue through Thursday. The People’s Place is open for toy distribution to the needy today (12/15) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
