Volunteers are an important part of the Historic Huguenot Street family. Consider sharing your love of the Hudson Valley and its history by becoming a volunteer.
What volunteers do:
- Lead visitors on tours of the historic homes.
- Interact with the guests in the Visitor Center.
- Investigate genealogy, history, and other topics in the library.
- Assist the curatorial staff with the management of our collections.
- Celebrate with us at special events.
No previous knowledge is necessary and all training is provided.
Benefits of being a volunteer:
- Volunteers receive free, guided tours, reduced rates to special events, monthly coffee-hours, end-of-season gatherings, and other benefits.
- Volunteers learn about the history of New Paltz and the surrounding areas. Special topics of interest include art, architecture, archaeology, archives, preservation, and material culture.
- Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet new and interesting people, and share with them their love of the Hudson Valley. Volunteers become a part of the story here on the street, while supporting a member-sponsored, non-profit, National Historic Landmark District.
