Want to have fun while helping us build a healthier community? Come be a volunteer at this year’s Expo. Rarely is there a better opportunity to lend a hand. We invite you to come on board as a volunteer and help make this year’s event a spectacular success. Volunteers at the Expo receive a complimentary T-shirt in addition to free admission to the event – just donate a few hours of your time, then spend the day exploring and learning.

U-Team Opportunity!
WHAT: 15th Annual Women’s Health & Wellness Expo: Get Fit for Life!
WHEN: Saturday, May 2
WHERE: Miller Middle School, 65 Fording Place Rd., Lake Katrine, NY 12449
WHO/WHY: Founded by physician Dr. Debra Karnasiewicz to encourage health and wellness through healthy eating, movement, and both traditional and alternative therapies, among other approaches. Organized by both volunteers and employees of local businesses.
JOB&SHIFT: 9:30-12:30 in the Spa Zone; 2-4 volunteers
Assist visitors in signing up for an alternative spa therapy such as massage, acupuncture, or Reiki. If the time slot is later, remind that person to be back 5-10 minutes before or it will be given to another interested person. Ask therapists if they would like a quiet reminder of their next waiting patients.
DETAILS: Park anywhere in school lot. At front welcome table ask location of volunteer check-in. At volunteer checkin, ask to be directed to Spa Zone. There will be folks at the Zone who will teach you what to do before they end their shift. Before you leave the Zone, please teach the next volunteers what to do. Delicious food and drinks are for sale in the food zone. Bring own water if desired. No place for volunteers’ valuables. Victoria Langling is Coordinator of Volunteers and will be in touch throughout the event either by stopping by or cell. There will also be a “runner” in every Zone who can go find her in the event of a need.
PERKS: Event t-shirt, free access to entire event, take advantage of being in the spa zone to sign up for your own treatment for after your shift, and a bag of goodies you take on your way out the door.
