With music, dancing, food, film, art and nature activities for all ages, the 5th Annual Winter Hoot welcomes the community, one and all, for a spirit-raising good time in mid-winter! Hear world-class musical acts from our Hudson Valley region and beyond. Attend for a few hours or the whole weekend. Tickets are pay what you can at the door—purchase in advance to guarantee entry. Indoor lodging is available on site.

A thank-you reception for our most generous supporters in the Pewter Shop with wine & cheese, Hoot gifts, and music by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason and friends!

7:00 Film Short: Crac! Frederic Back’s touching 1981 animated tale of snow, fiddling, family and folk art
7:30 pm THE HUDSON: A RIVER AT RISK DOCUMENTARY SCREENING
Followed by a Q & A with filmmaker Jon Bowermaster.
During the documentary a kid-friendly movie will be screened upstairs in the kids zone if you have a specific kids’ film suggestion, please email us!

Saturday, Feb 4th: Music, Dancing & More
Entertainment starts at 11am with music and dancing for kids and families, goes all day long with a lyrical & rousing revue of independent folk and roots music for all ages, culminating in a rowdy late-night square dance.
Saturday’s performance hall lineup features: wonderful children’s artist Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower, beautiful songstress Natalie Merchant, beloved songwriter Dan Bern, award-winning blues duo Annie Raines and Paul Rishell, Hudson Valley fiddle and folk duo Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, heartfelt rural-rockers Mike + Ruthy, sweet Catskills storyteller Story Laurie, and ho-down stringband Home Remedy. Plus more surprises TBA!

Enjoy local food from Ashokan & Veggie Oasis, beer & wine, goodies from Immune-Schein, Woodstock Cupcakes, Platte Clove Naturals and more in our wintertime farmer’s market. Plus the ever-popular blacksmithing demos, sledding, all-ages crafts in the FiberFlame room (leave your child for an additional childcare fee), an array of upstairs parent-child activities, an instrument petting zoo by Hungry For Music (please bring an instrument to donate to kids in need) and intimate mini-concerts in the Pewter Shop filmed and recorded by Beehive Productions.
Sunday, Feb 5th: Brunch & Community Sing
9:30am Brunch in the Dining Hall
10:30am “Community Sing” with the Winter Hoot All Stars. Request your favorite song, or sing your own – all instruments and voices welcome.
