Ulster County Emergency Animal Response Team
MEETING FOR VOLUNTEERS
Saturday September 6th, 2014, 10 am to 12 noon
Please Note:
This is NOT a repeat of the July Orientation. It is a follow-up meeting for volunteers interested in being a part of the UCART to learn more about how they can help and divide into working groups based on interest and expertise.
You do NOT need to have completed the trainings to attend. There are many ways you can help even if you do not have the time/interest to become a certified UCART member. For a list of tasks that do/do not require training, see our Volunteer Sign-up form.
In response to the wonderful turnout at the UCART Orientation on July 16, we are happy to invite you to the first UCART Volunteer’s Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to update all of you on our progress thus far, to discuss the formation of working groups, and to offer you the opportunity to pick which groups you’d like to participate in. The ideas for these working groups were formed based on information received by more than half of you who have filled out Volunteer Forms, and we thank you so much for your participation. If you have not yet filled out a form, you still have the opportunity to submit one online by following these links:
– Volunteer Fostering Sign-up Form
Your ideas are extremely valuable and important to us as we move forward with the formation of this Team. Please join the discussion on September 6 in New Paltz. RSVP below or by email to ucart@ulstercorps.org. We look forward to seeing you again.
Note for those who did not attend the July 16 UCART Orientation:
Volunteers do not have to be trained in order to participate in UCART. There are, however, many important opportunities which are essential during an animal disaster situation. In order to participate in one or more of these capacities (and to receive liability insurance coverage when out in the field as agreed upon by the State of New York), you must be certified and receive training. Please click here for more information or contact us at UCART@ulstercorps.org.
