SUMMARY:UCRRA Master Composter Master Recycler Volunteer Program
DESCRIPTION:Do you have what it takes to become a certified expert in waste
 \, recycling\, and composting? Our Volunteers become an extension of the U
 lster County Resource Recovery Agency’s Recycling Outreach Team and supp
 ort the Agency’s outreach initiatives in a number of ways. Through volun
 teering\, they extend the reach of our programming\, increasing our impact
 \, and helping our community to reduce waste by promoting recycling\, comp
 osting\, and other conservation techniques.\n\nAny Ulster County resident 
 (18 years or older) can become a UCRRA Volunteer. Some of the basic qualif
 ications for this role are:\n\n 	an interest in environmental science and 
 sustainability\;\n 	passion and enthusiasm for recycling\, composting\, su
 stainability\;\n 	ability to maintain leadership of diversity\, equity\, a
 nd inclusion\;\n 	ability to foster team work\, be respectful and collabor
 ate with others\; and\n 	to be dependability when assigned a Volunteer tas
 k.\n\nThere are many perks to volunteering with UCRRA! Volunteers gain an 
 official certificate of completion after the (free) 25-hour training progr
 am\, which is great for any emerging professional to add to their resume. 
 Our volunteers gain professional leadership skills through an immersive tr
 aining that helps prepare for experiences in public speaking and educating
  in diverse community settings. Last but not least\, our volunteers have f
 un at local festivals and events with the new friends they make by joining
  a community of neighbors united by their desire to build a more sustainab
 le community!\n\n\nInterested persons should review the Volunteer Descript
 ion and the current MCR Class Schedule linked below. The 2025 25 hour trai
 ning and certification course runs Mondays\, Wednesdays\, Fridays in June 
 from 4:00 - 6:30 PM in Kingston. Then\, complete a Volunteer Application a
 nd indicate if you’d like to be considered for the “fast track” or i
