WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are seeking volunteers to assist in the
ULSTER COUNTY ANNUAL UNSHELTERED HOMELESS COUNT
COORDINATED BY THE ULSTER COUNTY CONTINUUM OF CARE
Unsheltered Homless Count: January 30-31, 2017
Planning meeting/Volunteer Orientation: Wednesday January 18th, 1-2:30pm
The Kirkland, 2 Main Street Kingston
Each year The Ulster County Continuum of Care is required to conduct a homeless count during the last week of January. This count is essential for Ulster County to access over $1 million in funding each year that supports homeless housing and services to a number of homeless service providers in the county.
We are seeking volunteers to assist us with the execution of the count. Volunteers are needed to help get materials to service based location sites, assist at service based locations to administer anonymous surveys and provide giveaways, or to go to known locations where homeless regularly congregate to count the number of person living outside.
The Ulster County Continuum of Care will use the numbers to better plan services and housing options for homeless in our community.
For those interested in participating, we are holding a meeting on Wednesday January 18th from 1-2:30pm at the Kirkland 2 Main Street Kingston to finalize coverage of all service based and known locations and a short orientation.
