The Scouting for Food Food Drive is coming up!
Non-perishable donations will be collected Saturday, November 11th. Please help our local Scouts make this the most successful drive yet!
The bags to be filled will be distributed on Saturday, November 4th. Residents receiving the bags are encouraged to fill the bags with non-perishable food items and leave them outside for the Scouts to pick up for collection after 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11th. Among the food items sought are: canned vegetables, meats, soups and fruit; pasta and cereals; and baby food. More than one bag may be put out for collection.
Residents who did not receive a bag or whose bag is not collected by noon on Nov. 11th should call the Rip Van Winkle Council Boy Scout Service Center at (845) 339-0846.
All collected food will benefit local food pantries, including People’s Place, Salvation Army, Caring Hands, Happy to Help, Community Action, Family, and 32 other food pantries in the two counties.
