Local New Paltz farmer Kira Kinney has rented a school bus that will be taking people from New Paltz down to the Rockaways to help with Hurricane Sandy clean up. The bus will leave New Paltz Park and Ride at 6am on Tuesday the 13th and will return around 7pm. The bus and driver are all paid for so it won’t cost anyone more than people’s time and food for the day. There is space for 45 people or so to make the trip. The plan is to go to the Rockaway Surf Club and then set off on specific tasks from there – some cleaning, some packing supplies, some deliveries to other locations and homebound people.
