ESOPUS REPAIR CAFE
September 8, 11:00am – 2:00 pm
We are delighted that the Library has adopted Repair Cafe to add to their already wonderfully creative schedule of special programs!
Featuring all of our “core” repair categories: mechanical, electrical and electronic, things made of wood, clothing & textiles. PLUS bring a damaged or faded photo for Don Grice to digitally restore. He will scan your photo on the spot and is able to work wonders.
We are in need of a jewelry repair coach and could use additional help at the digital table.
THE REPAIR CAFE’S MISSION
– To transform our throw-away economy, one beloved item at a time
– To reduce how much stuff goes into the waste stream
– To preserve traditional repair know-how & skills, and pass them on
– To show the people who have this knowledge that they are value
– To feed our curiosity about “the way things work”, provide scientific diversion & have fun!
-To foster community, sustainability, and resilience
