Thank you, to all who contacted me to offer to help at the shelter. The shelter is actually closed, as of now, and families have been allowed back into their homes. Firemen continue to fight the fire in both Sullivan and Ulster Counties, along with numerous other emergency service personnel. Please, keep them all in your thoughts and prayers that they stay safe throughout this incident.

Volunteers needed to assist with Red Cross shelter opening today, Monday May 4th, 2015, in Walker Valley due to Cragsmoor Forest Fire
The Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has ordered a mandatory evacuation for Route 52 Cragsmoor including the following areas:
ROAD A, ROAD B, BAXTER RD, CRAMER RD, OLD PLANK RD, AND SCHWABB LN
ALL EVACUEES ARE ASKED TO RELOCATE TO THE WALKER VALLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT LOCATED AT 3679 ROUTE 52
