Opening night of our 6th annual International Phoenicia Festival of the Voice is getting very close (July 29 – August 2) & we are still looking for volunteers in many different categories! In return you will receive the gift of mingling with music lovers & all around great folks who come to our performances year after year. This year our theme is “America!” & we will be presenting American composers & performers from a wide spectrum including world-class Opera, Broadway, Choral, Early Music & Aboriginal singers.

We need help with:
– On Thursday morning, July 23 we need 10 – 12 people to help us pick up & drop off the lumber/materials we will use for building the main Festival stage on the field in Phoenicia.
– On Fri July 24 at 10AM we will begin the stage construction on the field in Phoenicia. This usually takes 2 – 4 days days to complete – depending on how many volunteers we have. We also need people to put up the soft fencing around the perimeter of the field at that time.
– IMPORTANT – On Mon, Aug 3 staring at 9AM we need help dismantling the stage & taking down the signage around Phoenicia by car. 30 – 40 people needed – no carpenter skills necessary. Big blow out party w/ donated food on the field at the end of the day!
– Backstage crew support/stage hands
– Security (patrolling the main stage perimeter prior to & during performances)
– Housing/hosting the artists in, or near to Phoenicia
– Cleaning of the homes where the artists will be staying.
– Food preparation for the artists’ meals
-Food preparation for the post performance parties in town
-Setting up/cleaning up at the post performance parties
– Street greeters/directing traffic to/at our various lots
– Assistant to our director of costumes & props
– Ushers at our many venues
– Attendants at restrooms & information tables in Woodstock & Phoenicia
– Transportation of artists – To/from airports, or locally around Phoenicia
– Placing & taking down signage in & around Phoenicia
-Answering phones in the Festival office on Main Street in Phoenicia
POST FESTIVAL – VERY IMPORTANT
During August we will need people to help us hand write thank you notes & take care of odd office tasks as we wind down from the Festival. WE WERE WOEFULLY SHORT ON HELP W/ THIS LAST YEAR

Allow at least a week for us to reply, as your request will be forwarded to the appropriate department heads
Please indicate whether you have been a Volunteer with us in the past & what service you provided.
Tasks will be assigned on a 1st come basis.
All Volunteers MUST have dependable transportation, as well as a back-up plan if their transportation fails, as once you have been assigned to a task, you are very difficult to replace!
All Volunteers must have Internet service which they check at least once a day in case of cancellations. (more frequently during Festival week)
Please note – the Phoenicia Festival of the Voice Directors regret we cannot provide food, lodging, or transportation to our volunteers. (except for the Aug 3rd party 😉
