Mohonk Preserve Family + Youth Volunteer Recruitment Event
Saturday June 21st at the VC between 12:00PM-4:00PM
Mohonk Preserve Visitors Center, 3197 State Route 44-55 , Gardiner, NY
Family volunteering provides volunteers the opportunity to participate in meaningful service while spending time with their families.
Mohonk Preserve is hosting a family and youth volunteer recruitment event on Saturday June 21st, 2014. The events of the day will include demonstrations, games, raffles and all-around fun. If families decide to volunteer at MP, they will receive an orientation training on their respective volunteer opportunity, be assigned a mentor (from our pool of seasoned volunteers) and will receive a volunteer ID card. The volunteer ID will allow access to the Preserve during their volunteer activities as well as access for family recreational activities.
If families are unable to commit to volunteering, they should be aware there is unlimited public access to our visitors center and the immediate surrounding grounds. Additionally, there are a number of free educational programs and hikes that initiate at our visitors center
At MP we understand volunteerism is multifaceted. People serve for a multitude of reasons, today’s volunteers serve in a variety of capacities and with various expectations for the return on their investment of energy and time. Additionally, not all people who serve gravitate to the term “volunteer.” Students may prefer to consider their volunteerism as internships or community service.
