Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for the 2016 MLK Day Celebration of Service! It was a wonderful day, filled with beautiful music thanks to Blind Mice, members of La Familia and the New Progressive Baptist Church Choir and Dancers, amazing food from Bywater Bistro, Cucina of Woodstock, Deisings Bakery, Lekker, Main Course, Russo’s Deli, Shindig, and The Alternative Baker, and fabulous raffle prizes for our Guests of Honor from Amy Moses Integrative Massage, Aural Gratification Studio, Auto Tech, The Bakery of New Paltz, Bear Cafe, Cheese Louise, Fiber Flame, Garden Cafe, Golden Notebook, Green Cottage, Jean Turmo Ltd, Lekker, Mirabai, Mountain Float Spa, Not Fade Away, Psychic Rd by Rose, Signature Fitness, Sparkle, Stella’s Restaurant and The Hot Spot – Bikram Yoga in the Hudson Valley. Thank you to the wonderful team of AmeriCorps volunteers who helped out all day so our regular volunteers could have the day off, to Susan Richmann, Cliff Rockmuller & Fran Wishnick for coordinating the team, to Jason Sarubbi/Split Rock Studio for the sound, and our MC Sam Magarelli, founder of the Woodstock Volunteers Day that inspired this event, and to all the volunteers and guests who joined us in honoring the legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and celebrating the broad circle of kindness and generosity that knits us together as a community..

UlsterCorps is sponsoring its 7th Annual MLK Day Celebration of Service, Saturday, January 16th, 2016, 2-5 pm at the Marbletown Community Center, 3564 Main St (Route 209), Stone Ridge, NY (Monday January 18th snow date). The event honors volunteers like you, our “Guests of Honor”, from non-profit service organizations throughout Ulster County for your hard work and dedication.
The day will celebrate the broad circle of kindness and generosity that knits us together as a community and demonstrates the value of the volunteer spirit across all generations. The event is free and features live music, refreshments and raffles for the volunteers.
Performing at the event will be Blind Mice, members of La Familia, New Progressive Baptist Church Choir and Dancers.
