Food Recovery Challenge

Volunteers needed for a fun opportunity to work with our community children and the New Paltz K-12 School District to conduct a food waste audit on Friday, April 21, 2017.
Volunteers will assist 3rd through 5th grade students conduct a baseline food waste audit for EPA’s Food Recovery Challenge program.
Volunteers will help students and staff quickly sort waste into several categories and place discards into appropriate bins (approximately 10 categories), measure and record.
The audit will take place through several lunch periods from 11:35 am to 1:50 pm with the time commitment being 11 am through 3pm if possible (shorter slots also welcome).
Experience working with children is preferred.
Come help us raise awareness about the social and environmental impacts of wasted food and what we can collectively do about it!
