Volunteer for the Library Fair
Volunteers are needed to set up the books Friday afternoon, October 1st, and to work the main book sale Saturday and Sunday. We will also need three volunteers per shift for the children’s books tent. All work is outdoors, but volunteers working under either book tent Saturday and Sunday must wear masks.
Book Tent Volunteer Job Descriptions
Friday Box Unloaders: Work in the shed removing boxes from the stacks and handing them to Box Unpackers or carrying them to the tent and placing them on tables according to the categories on the boxes. This is hard physical work, and you don’t want to volunteer for it unless you are in good physical condition with a strong back.
Friday Box Unpackers: Unpack books, arranging them on the table by category so that the title is visible.
Saturday and Sunday Cashiers and Baggers (Adult & Children): Two cashier/baggers work as a team dividing up the tasks of totaling the amount due, taking payment, getting ID for checks, making change, and bagging the books.
Saturday and Sunday Rovers (Adult & Children): Keep all book tables and shelves neat, stocked and organized, consolidating sections as books get sold. Answer customer questions and bring things to and from cashier stations as needed.
