Start the spring off right with giving back to our environment and helping clean-up the popular Bluestone Wild Forest in Kingston, NY. On Saturday, April 1st we will be leading a clean-up team to clean up the main entrance and parking are of Onterora Lake right off of Route 28. We will then jump over to the Jockey Hill area of Bluestone Wild Forest to continue the clean-up efforts there at the Jockey Hill/ Wintergreen Trailhead.
This effort is part of an ongoing project to remove old dump sites, to aid the restoration of these parcels of forest preserve lands.
We will be meeting at 10am at the Onteora Lake Main Parking area right off of Route 28. Wear sturdy footwear, pack plenty of water and a lunch. We will be supplying the trash bags and safety gear needed but feel free to bring your own work gloves or other gear. The public is welcome to join us and you do not need to be a member of any club to join the Trail Crew. No experience is necessary, we will provide the tools and the training on site before we get started.
The event will go on rain or shine however if there is still too much snow on the ground for us to work the “snow date” is April 9th at 10am.
