Who We Help – Local Cancer Patients
The Benedictine Health Foundation established the Rosemary D. Gruner Memorial Cancer Fund in 2004 in partnership with the Gruner Family. The Fund provides financial assistance in the form of gift cards to purchase food at Hannaford Supermarkets and/or fuel at Stewart’s Shops to cancer patients while receiving treatment. Residents of Ulster County (regardless of the facility or location they currently receive treatment), and also residents of neighboring Mid-Hudson Valley Counties receiving treatment within Ulster County are eligible to apply. Over 1000 patients and their families have received assistance. Our primary referral source is the Oncology Support Program at HealthAlliance.
