Free Winter Coats, Healthcare Clinic and Section 8 Application Assistance Piggyback on December 11

Affordable housing application assistance, a winter coat distribution, and holistic wellness clinic are capitalizing on each other’s free services at The Kirkland, 2 Main Street, on Thursday, December 11.
From 9 a .m. to 3 p.m., Hudson Valley housing innovator RUPCO provides free, one-on-one assistance to people submitting the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) application. This paperwork is due the following day, December 12 at 4:30 p.m. Those interested in submitting their names to a lottery for rental assistance in Ulster County and who need help completing the forms may come to Application Support Day in The Kirkland’s Senate Room. At the same time, RUPCO teams up with Fidelis Care ,Q92.1, iHeartMedia, and Mid-Hudson Subaru as a distribution point for the 2014 Annual Coat Drive. Fidelis Care representatives share information about health insurance and host a giveaway of winter gear like jackets, boots, hats and scarves for men, women, children and infants. The Annual Coat Drive distributes winter gear regionally until December 31.
Lastly, Healthcare is a Human Right offers free holistic wellness care from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. No appointments are necessary for the Kingston Community Clinic, which is open regularly on the second Thursday of every month at The Kirkland. Healthcare is a Human Right has a volunteer faculty of exemplary and dedicated professionals providing free services in acupuncture, cranio-sacral therapy, massage, homeopathy, energy psychology, shiatsu massage, flower essences, reflexology, reiki, Feldenkrais, chiropractic, nutritional counseling, and aromatherapy.
