UlsterCorps is sponsoring its 10th Annual MLK Day Celebration of Service, Saturday January 19th, 2019, 2-5pm at the Rosendale Recreation Center, 1055 NY-32, Rosendale, NY (Monday January 21st snow date). The event honors volunteers from non-profit service organizations throughout Ulster County for their hard work and dedication.
The day will celebrate the broad circle of kindness and generosity that knits us together as a community and demonstrates the value of the volunteer spirit across all generations. The event is free and features live music by Blind Mice and Women of the World, refreshments from local restaurants, and raffle drawings for the volunteers. Volunteers from all Ulster County non-profits, as well as their families and friends, are welcome to attend.

for Local Hunger Relief Organizations

Would you like to help increase access to nutritious foods in your own communities? If so, please join us for a Volunteer Orientation on MLK Day, National Day of Service, Monday January 21st, 2019, from 9:30-11am at the Everette Hodge Community Center, 15-21 Franklin St, in Kingston. You’ll learn about the many opportunities to help support and grow local initiatives to address food insecurity and improve the quality of food available to those in need in our community. Volunteer opportunities include: helping to grow, glean and distribute fresh produce donated by local farms; preparing lunchtime meals at a soup kitchen; picking up food from local grocery stores; stocking/organizing shelves and preparing food packages at your local food pantry; assisting with food drives and more. The Orientation will include presentations by Family of Woodstock Inc, Angel Food East, People’s Place Food Pantry, and the Farm to Food Pantry Collaborative.
