Anderson Center for Autism	The Anderson Center for Autism Adult Services Art Program has been developing since early 2004. The program has motivated their artists to enter their art into numerous outside art exhibitions. They anticipate the art program to reach full bloom in the coming years as they continue to thrive on hard work, past successes and above all else a love for wonder, expression and creativity.
Angel Food East	Andrew Kirschner Andrew is a volunteer cook with Angel Food East, which has provided and delivered nutritious, hot meals 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year for the past 19 years to HIV/AIDS patients within Ulster County.
Art Lab	Beth Humphrey Saugerties Art Lab is a not-for-profit organization working to provide free and low-cost art education and programs to the youth of Saugerties and the surrounding areas. Art Lab offers programs with an emphasis on hands-on learning techniques and creative expression. Art Lab believes embracing the Arts build stronger communities.
Arts Society of Kingston	Lynne Friedman Lynne is a board member of the Arts Society of Kingston, a regional arts center for the Hudson Valley with over 500 members. Programs include monthly art exhibitions, member art shows, film series, performances, theatre workshops, writers workshops and many creative arts programs.
Bringing Agencies Together	Ruth Hirsch Bringing Agencies Together is a grassroots organization. They develop cooperation and minimize duplication of services among not-for-profit organizations: Human Services, Education, Libraries, Health, and Environmental. Bringing Agencies Together organizes six meetings a year where a great deal of information about the complex not-for-profit world is exchanged. All public sector and non-profit agencies can participate.
Caring Hands Soup Kitchen	Glen deWitt “Photographer Glenn deWitt wanted to show people the grit, heartache and struggle of Midtown Kingston. So he went there and hung around. He began volunteering at the Caring Hands Soup Kitchen, run by the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church…” – Adam Bosch, Times Herald-Record
CASA of Ulster County	Polly M. Law CASA of Ulster County links trained volunteers with the family court system to advocate for abused and neglected children, many of whom are in foster care. A CASA volunteer speaks up for each child until he or she is placed into a safe, permanent and nurturing home.
Catskill Community Radio	Harriet Grossman “Catskill Community Radio (www.catskillradio.org) is another innovative project of the Pine Hill Community Center. Their quarterly live broadcast, called Catskill Cabaradio, is an especially special event. The Cabaradio highlights the talents of local poets, musicians, storytellers and comedians, all interspersed with interesting and relevant interviews with local business owners, historians, activists and curmudgeons. The show is always a surprise, always well attended and never fails to make you smile. I am pleased to support this program with Screen Door Vista.” – HG
Center for Creative Education	Barbara Rosen CCE strives to create a better world by nurturing and empowering youth and community through the arts. CCE has worked closely with the Kingston School District for a decade and runs three successful arts education programs in Kingston including the Percussion Orchestra of Kingston (POOK), the Energy Dance Company, and the arts component of the TOPS after school program at George Washington and J.F. Kennedy Elementary Schools.
Center for Spectrum Services	Alan Carey The Center for Spectrum Services vision is a educational, treatment and diagnostic center offering evidence-based programs leading to optimal outcomes for individuals and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorders. Its mission is to evaluate individual needs, develop nurturing, therapeutic learning environments and foster professional growth. It believes that family, staff and community collaboration is the cornerstone of its success. The artist, Alan Carey, is the husband of the co-founder of the agency, Susan Buckler.
Children’s Media Project	Judy Sigunick “A job as ceramics teacher at Mill Street Loft summer camp was my first introduction to CMP. The work created by kids was amazing. We created a pottery throwing/ video/ sound piece – although simple and less than 10 minutes long, is still a source of inspiration for me. Years later, shortly after Nicole became the director I contacted them about working together as a visual artist combining ceramics and digital processes. Their purity of focus, caring about kids and media literacy is so appropriate to today’s culture. CMP and I are about to collaborate in my ceramics classroom at Dutchess Community College in a claymation project. More people should know about them and the impact they are having in the Poughkeepsie community and beyond.” – JS
Cornell Cooperative Extension	Mercedes Cecilia “When I moved to the Catskill Mountains in 1986, I called Cornell Cooperative Extension almost every week with questions about agriculture and the safety of our spring water. I took some of their educational programs in horticulture. Their concern for the health of our community is wonderful, today we are enjoying local organic farming, and we have to thank C.C.E. for their help. I admire the work they do to provide education to everyone.” – MC
Creative Music Studio	Evelyne Pouget “Great Music inspires me! For decades, the Woodstock-based Creative Music Studio created a musical legacy, now finally archived and available to the public. It is my dream that the spirit of CMS will continue to inspire the boundless creativity, spontaneity and joy for future generations.” – EP
Daily Bread Soup Kitchen	Richard Segalman Courtesy Richard Segalman + Woodstock Framing Gallery The Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, located at Christ’s Lutheran Church in Woodstock, serves three meals a week throughout the year. Approximately 40 individuals are served per day resulting in some 6,600 free meals being served each year. Area restaurants take turns preparing delicious, nourishing soup, bread and other foods. A volunteer staff of individuals from the Woodstock Council of Churches member congregations, the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, the Onteora Teachers Association and community service organizations, set the tables, serve the soup and clean up after the kitchen closes.
Dispute Resolution Center	Nancy Cohen Nancy is a member of the Pen and Brush Club, the Art Society of Kingston, and the Marbletown Arts Society. She is a newly trained volunteer mediator for the Dispute Resolution Center, the community mediation center of Ulster county, offering mediation, facilitation and training to the businesses, individuals and families of Ulster County.
Esopus Creek Conservancy	Priscilla Derven Esopus Creek Conservancy’s purpose is to conserve significant natural landscapes in the Esopus Creek watershed and the Saugerties area. During the past six years, with terrific community support, ECC has provided public access to the preserve with new and improved hiking trails. Volunteers have worked to restore the meadow area where visitors can now observe a wide variety of wildflowers, birds and butterflies. Partnering with the Catskill Center for Conservation and Development and the Saugerties school district, they opened up Esopus Bend as an outdoor classroom for local schools.
Esopus Musicalia	Dulcie Foo Fat Esopus Musicalia draws together a group of Hudson Valley chamber musicians to collaborate on the performance of large and small works. Our group explores hidden gems of the classical repertoire that are infrequently performed due to their unique size and configuration. We share a passion for music and a commitment to excellence.
Family of Ellenville	Barbara Upton “I admire Family of Ellenville for their tireless devotion to helping people though their emergency food pantry, crisis hotline, counseling and case management services, free clothing and furniture, and so much more. Last year 18,000 called or walked in their doors for help. Family of Ellenville makes our community a stronger, more vibrant and compassionate place!” – BU
Family of New Paltz	G. Steve Jordan Since 1970, FAMILY has been an anchor for area residents- a place where people are respectful and caring, and where the search for solutions is creative and tireless. FAMILY’s shelters, emergency food pantries, court advocates, counseling and case management services, hotlines, and child care supports all work together to help people achieve the changes they seek.
Family of Woodstock – Adolescent Service Programs	Elaine Thompson Family’s Adolescent Services Program helps individuals needing a place to stay or needing support setting out on their own. They help connect individuals with substance abuse treatment or counseling for emotional issues. Their case managers work with families in trouble, with young people in the county jail, and with teens in foster care. Family has both residential and nonresidential programs.
Family of Woodstock – Midway Programs	Thomas Vink-Lainas Midway of Kingston and Ellenville provide a supervised living program for up to 12 months for adolescents 16-21 and their infants who are homeless and not yet prepared to function independently.
Farms to Food Pantries Project Mid-Hudson Coalition to End Hunger	Jamie Hamilton The Mid-Hudson Coalition to End Hunger brings together local workers and volunteers from Community Gardens and Farms, Gleaners, Processors, Storage Facilities, Food Pantries and Soup Kitchens to help make the connections that will feed more people in our communities. Initiatives include Farms to Food Pantries Project, through which volunteers assist in growing, gleaning, processing and transporting food from local farms to local food pantries and soup kitchens, and the County-wide Freedom from Hunger Food Drive, June 21st-July 5th, 2010.
Fern Feldman Anolick Breast Center at Benedictine Hospital	Ellen Sampson “As an artist and a breast cancer survivor, I was honored when the folks at Benedictine Hospital asked me to represent the Fern Feldman Anolick Breast Center with one of my masks for this event. Made in 1995 this piece represents my earlier work.” – ES
Food Bank of the Hudson Valley	Sean Sullivan “I was the Warehouse Manager at the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley for 5 years. I worked with a very diverse, very dedicated group of people. I learned and grew so much during my time there. It’s a very special place.” – SS
Gateway Community Industries	F Greene Founded in 1957, Gateway is one of the leading independent, not-for-profit vocational rehabilitation and training centers for people with mental and/or physical disabilities.
Good Neighbor Food Pantry	Hatti Iles “I help to stock the shelves on the third Monday of every month and I enjoy that because I never knew so many things could be canned.” – HI, Good Neighbor Food Pantry volunteer
Haitian People’s Support Project	Haiti Houses Stop by our Youth Day June 26th at noon and help build one of these tiny houses which will be sold in the WAAM shop and our silent auction July 17th. Proceeds benefit HPSP.
Harvesting a Lifetime UC Living History Project	Carol Pepper-Cooper “I believe that no life, however obscure, is without value, rather it provides an example for those who come after. It was wonderful to participate in Harvesting A Lifetime which provides an opportunity for the young who make the videos and the old who are the subjects to interact in a way that leaves examples which will nourish future generations.” – CPC
Historical Society of Woodstock	Martin Carey About the Historical Society of Woodstock: The lively past and culture of the town of Woodstock is presented in exhibits and preserved in extensive archives.
Hospice, Inc.	Judy Gonzalez “I am honored to present a piece on behalf of Hospice, an agency that has served so many in a time of need. I myself, benefited greatly from Hospice Services when it was my mothers time to leave this world. Cabrini Hospice in NYC made sure my mother was as comfortable and pain free as she could possibly be. Their hallways were filled with beautiful art that would lift you as your spirit had to confront immeasurable pain. Jewish Family Services	Marlene Bloomer “While working at JFS I became involved in co-creating the Centenarian Luncheon honoring residents of Ulster County who are 100+ years old–or is it young? I enjoyed speaking with many centenarians, their relatives and their caretakers learning a great deal of personal history as well as history of the county. This photo of Kingston represents the contemporary waterfront as well as the same sky that was seen 100+ years ago.” – MB
Kathy Janeczek Memorial Fund benefiting Girls Scouts of UC & Salvation Army	Joe Concra “I first met Kathy while working to organize the Hudson Valley AIDS Auction. Kathy would be at every meeting smiling, supporting and gathering so many personalities to accomplish the myriad tasks such an event requires. Her commitment made the heavy lifting easier for us all. Kingston Boys & Girls Club	Dennis Washington “I am the Teen / Gang Prevention Director for the Boys & Girls Club of Kingston. I am also the Keystone Leadership Club Advisor. The Keystone Club is very happy to be working with Ulster Corps. They learned a lot from the hunger banquet and are looking forward to serving as volunteers at this function as well. Mental Health Assoc. in Ulster Co.	Jean Tansey “I truly believe that with the right supports every person can move closer to their personal goals and when they are striving towards health and self-actualization they and the community are in-turn better off. The interconnectedness between individuals is hugely important in accomplishing this and this is what my art speaks to… as the Wellness Resource Coordinator for MHA and as a social worker I am entrusted with encouraging this in the individuals I help.” – JT, MHA Staff
Mohonk Preserve	France Menk “Proceeds from this work will support the Rosendale Waterworks Bouldering Area access management costs. This is a new area, in the process of being purchased by the OSI and the Mohonk Preserve. The Preserve will be managing access, and needs funds to support this management. As a climber, and outdoor recreation aficionado, I cannot overemphasize the importance of the Mohonk Preserve to our individual lives, to the local ecosystem and to our regional economy.” – FM, Mohonk volunteer
Oncology Support Program at Benedictine Hospital	Josephine Bloodgood “Over the years and through difficult times the OSP has always been there with workshops, newsletters, and support groups to sustain the body, mind, and spirit. It’s one of the first resources I mention whenever I hear of a friend who has received a cancer diagnosis. It’s an honor and privilege to contribute this painting for the benefit of the OSP. ” – JB
Phillies Bridge Farm Project	K.L. McKenna I wish to support Phillies Bridge Farm because I believe it is important for our community keep our local working farms visible and viable. I believe in local farming and consuming locally grown foods. The Phillies Bridge Farm promotes local agriculture and offers education and demonstrations to the public which helps keep local farming alive.” – KLM
Pine Hill Community Center	Polly Vos The Pine Hill Community Center, established in 2000, offers services and events for all age groups including a before and after school program, the Pine Hill Social Circle, Pine Hill Art and Craft Shop and Collective, a computer and technology lab, a community meal and food distribution program. The artist is an avid volunteer and member of the Board of Directors, and states that she “couldn’t be happier to be part of such a fine organization.”
Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley	Jacinta Bunnell Jacinta Bunnell (Stone Ridge, NY) worked for Planned Parenthood of the Mid-Hudson Valley for 6 years as a health educator and case manager. When asked in a quiz game recently which social service organization she would give a million dollars to, if she had it, she answered Planned Parenthood. I suppose this painting is a start.
The Queens Galley	Jane Bloodgood-Abrams “I’ve been impressed at how Queens Galley has been an important regional food relief organization with a large emphasis on education and therefore empowerment, for people in need of healthy meals.” – JBA
Ravensbeard Wildlife Center	Joan Barker Ravensbeard is a group of wildlife rehabilitators, naturalists, educators and concerned people committed to building a broader community with respect for all nature. Ravensbeard provides wildlife rehabilitation for injured and orphaned species in order to return them to the wild, promotes community awareness, and offers members of the community a hands-on opportunity to work with many different species.
Rondout Food Pantry	Claire Wasser “I am supporting RFP because I feel that feeding the hungry is vital to the strength of a community. This is the food pantry in my community and I know it needs the support in order to serve the growing needs of services for the people.” – CW
Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption	Gillian Jagger “RVAA is dedicated to helping local families with food, supplies, low-cost spay/neuter and veterinary care for their pets so that no one is forced to give up a cherished family member for financial reasons. We recognize that the homeless, neglected and abused animals who end up in shelters are the tragic symptoms of a problem endemic to the larger community. The result is that, one pet at a time, one family at a time, RVAA is keeping animals out of the shelters and in the homes with the people who love them and only need a little help to keep them. I have never known of a shelter that I can feel so much admiration for and want to support.” – GJ
Rondout Valley Growers Association	Susan Perrin “I support the RVGA because communities need farms – to feed us healthy food, to maintain our regions beautiful landscape and to sustain our economy. RVGA organizes a Farm to Food Pantry Program- working in collaboration with Family of Woodstock, the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, the Woodcrest Community, UlsterCorps and others, which provides season-long fresh produce donations and end-of-season gleanings. They are active with the area’s Farm to School program which combines wellness, history and agriculture participatory learning experiences for students K-12.” – SP

Saugerties Public School Program Fund	Ralph Humphrey The Saugerties Public Schools Program Support Fund is a project fund of the Ulster County Community Foundation. This fund is a vehicle by which charitable contributions can be made which will directly support important curricular programs in the Saugerties Public Schools, primarily in the areas of music, art & libraries. This fund was created in the face of unprecedented cuts in art, music and library programs. Ralph’s two granddaughters attend Saugerties schools.
Tibet Aid	Gertrude Abramson Tibet Aid is dedicated to providing humanitarian assistance to Tibetans in Tibet and in exile. Their vision is to see the Tibetan religion and culture remain alive and flourish.
Ulster County Habitat for Humanity	Stacie Flint “As Habitat for Humanity provides the gift of shelter, it is also a caring exchange between people, perhaps facilitating even greater blessings. A wonderful thing! I hope that my painting will provide a feeling of domestic abundance, inspired by the thought.” – SF

Ulster Literacy Association	Renee Englander “I am a tutor at Ulster Literacy and very much believe in the work they do. They afford students valuable tools to enable them to better their lives and society in general.” – RE
UlsterCorps	Judy Pfaff Courtesy Judy Pfaff, Tandem Press + Elena Zang Gallery “My introduction to UlsterCorps is through Beth McLendon. She has a calling to give and to organize. She even managed to teach me ways in which I can help. I am pleased to be able to support the good work of UlsterCorps by participating in Arts for Ulster. UlsterCorps is a countywide resource dedicated to fostering a culture of volunteerism, collaboration and service in Ulster County. Arts for Ulster embodies that spirit of collaboration by raising awareness and funds to support over 50 local service agencies and not-for-profits. Many of the participating artists are also volunteers with the agency their piece will benefit. I hope this show will inspire others to volunteer – plant a garden, teach someone to read, help build a playground… get more involved in our community.” – JP
Women’s Studio Workshop	Barbara Leoff Burge In 1971, before WSW’s inception, Barbara Leoff Burge and three other women artists recognized the need for role models for young artists, and the need for an artists’ workspace dedicated to encouraging the voice and vision of women artists. They founded WSW in 1974 and have been providing professional growth opportunities for artists ever since through artist residencies, classes, exhibits and other programs.
Woodstock Artists Association & Museum	Barbara Bachner “From the beginning, the Woodstock Artist’s Association has been a place to make wonderful friendships and be part of Woodstock life. The WAAM, or WAA as it was then known, has played an important part in my life in Woodstock. From 1989 to 2002 I was actively involved in its existence, first for 3 years on the Exhibition Committee, then a Director for another 3 years (one year as Chair), and a Trustee for 7 years. I am grateful to it for welcoming me into the community and for the opportunity to exhibit work among a fine group of artist peers.” – BB
WAAM – Garrett Ackerman Award	Bruce Ackerman The Garrett Ackerman Memorial Award is named in memory of Garrett Henderson Ackerman, the grandson of WAAM artist member Bruce Ackerman. The award is given to an outstanding graduating senior from an Ulster County high school who plans to continue his or her studies in art at a college or university.
Woodstock Area Meals on Wheels	Barbara Darr Williams Mrs. Darr was a longtime client of Meals on Wheels prior to moving to Highland Assisted Living two years ago. She writes: “The first week that I received Meals on Wheels, it was like, everyday, a new gem of a person, came to my door to deliver a meal. That was as much of a treat, as the good food delivered.” She is delighted to have her art hang in WAAM-it is a dream come true to her.
Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild	Yale Epstein The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is a multi-arts membership organization. Its Kleinert/James Arts Center hosts local and national performing, visual and literary artists. The WBG offers a variety of classes in the arts and is steward of the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony.
Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary	Jean Rhode “The writing on this piece is A Prayer for Animals, written by Albert Schweitzer. I chose this prayer because it is a statement of what our intention at Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary is every day. I painted this prayer on wood we use at the Sanctuary to connect this desire in our hearts to the fences, barns, buckets, shovels, and all of the physical things we use to care for the animals.” – JR
Woodstock Farm Festival	Joyce Beymer “As a resident of Woodstock for 30 years, a local realtor for 25 and currently the President of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce and Arts, I know how important community can be. My art will Celebrate our Farmers and our Community… with Fresh Local Produce Outdoor Dining, Live Music, Special Events, Kids Activities, Scintillating Conversation… and Peace, Love & Music of course.” – JB
Woodstock Film Festival	Milton Glaser Each year film and music lovers from around the world gather at the Woodstock Film Festival for an innovative variety of films, first-class concerts, workshops, celebrity-led panels, an awards ceremony, and fantastic parties. At the Woodstock Film Festival, participants and visitors find themselves in a friendly, casual environment, one that is conducive to creativity, networking and a good time, surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. YMCA	Paul Wemp “The YMCA is a wonderful and affordable place for our community. Paul went there several times a week. He liked to use the workout room, the pool, the sauna, the track, but mostly, he loved to play basketball there. He enjoyed the noon pick up games and the men with whom he played. Sadly, he passed away there, but ‘he died with his sneakers on'” – Judy Hakam, Paul’s widow
