Plant A Row for the Hungry Campaign Strives to Stem Hunger in Ulster County
What’s more rewarding than growing your own vegetables? How about sharing your extra produce to help feed the hungry right here in Ulster County! With your help we can do it!
The vegetable growing season is in full swing, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County’s Master Gardener program is looking for gardeners like you to help feed people who are hungry in our community by joining our Plant-A-Row for the Hungry (PAR) campaign. Each year we ask vegetable gardeners to grow a little extra or share their extras.
Your fresh produce can be dropped off at the following designated locations:
– Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County
10 Westbrook Lane in Kingston between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm,
Monday – Friday. Contact: Vicki Campbell 845-340-3990.
– Family of New Paltz
51 North Chestnut Street in New Paltz between the hours of 10:00am and
5:00pm, Monday ‑ Thursday. Contact: Kathy Cartegena 845-255-8801.
– Caring Hands Soup Kitchen
Clinton Avenue in Kingston at the Methodist Church between the hours of
9:00am and 2:00pm, Monday – Thursday. Contact: Rev. Darlene Kelley

Nutrition program educators at Cornell Cooperative Extension will use and distribute the produce collected when they go out to teach their hands-on nutrition education programs that work with low to moderate income families, children, and seniors residing in Ulster County.
This season’s co-sponsors include The Garden Writers Association, The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, and Eat Smart New York.
