ItÂ’s not too early to start planning your garden. Take advantage of a wonderful array of fresh seedlings being offered again by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster CountyÂ’s Master Gardeners. A wide variety of fruits, vegetables and evergreen seedlings will be available for the spring planting season at their annual spring sale.
Order forms can be requested now by calling Dona Crawford at 845-340-3990. An order form can also be downloaded on the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County website at www.cceulster.org under the Event Registration Forms or Master Gardener Program section. All orders are subject to availability or supply. No orders will be accepted after Friday, March 5, 2010.
The pick up dates for all orders are: Wednesday, April 21, and Thursday, April 22, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Ulster County Fair Grounds in New Paltz, and Friday, April 23, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and Saturday, April 24, from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Ulster County Highway Garage, 66 Hurley Ave, in Kingston.
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ulster County will not be responsible for seedlings after pick-up dates or after they are removed from designated pick-up stations. The seedlings are “bare root”, not balled stock, of stated sizes.
Fruits & Vegetables available this year:
Seascape Strawberries offered in bundles of 5, Caroline Raspberries offered in bundles of 5 and Anne Raspberries offered in bundles of 5, Deer resistant MacDonald Rhubarb offered in bundles of 2, Blueray and Patriot Blueberries sold as pairs for cross pollination, all male variety of Jersey Knight and Purple Passion Asparagus each offered in bundles of 10, Pink Champagne Currants and Gooseberries Invicta will be offered in a set of each variety and as variety pack of Onions including, Yellow Stuggart, White Ebenezer and Red Wethersfield.
Trees available this year are:
(All evergreens are three year old bare root seedlings, except for Canaan which is a three year transplant)
Canaan Fir, Balsam Fir, Scotch Pine, White Pine, Black Hill Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce and White Spruce. Select seedlings also available in deer resistant packs of ten of each Spruce, Colorado Blue, Black Hills and White for only $25.
