The Alzheimer’s Association will be holding the annual Memory Walk Fundraising Event at Ulster County Community College on Saturday, October 24th. Memory Walk raises critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide support services to people in Ulster County who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders, and to promote research that will one day make this disease only a memory. We are currently looking for Team Captains to coordinate Memory Walk teams within Ulster County. Teams are groups of friends who come together and raise money. Working as a Team Captain is fun, exciting and enriching.
Memory Walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $260 million for the cause. All Memory Walk donations benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research.
The Hudson Valley/Rockland/Westchester chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is able to provide an array of FREE programs and services to residents throughout the region because of this fundraising effort. This includes: a 24-hour helpline; care consultations by professionals either through home visits or in-office appointments; information, referral, and advocacy; community & staff education on a variety of topics; support groups for caregivers and those in the early stages of dementia; and more.

Did you know…?
Every 70 seconds, someone becomes a victim of this disease!
Currently more than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s, and 78 million baby boomers are at risk –
unless we find a way to change the course of the disease.
I want to do my part to fight this disease, so I need to ask for your support!
Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance research into prevention, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer’s.
On behalf of the millions of Americans who are living with this disease, and their families, thank you so much for supporting my efforts!
